yo

You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their lives, and all of a sudden you think, "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? Since when....???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers, putting yours in their places, and then post the result in your journal. Please elaborate on the questions which would benefit from elaboration! One-word-answers seldom help anyone out.

Writer's Block: Secret Ballot

It's hard to ignore the fact that today is Election Day in the U.S. If you went to the polls today, tell us what it was like. Long line? Free stickers? Hanging chads? We want the details.

I was super excited to vote. I felt like my vote would count for the first time, really. New York, my home state, is never a battleground state but Virginia is this year. As a second year resident of Virginia, I was ready to make my vote count. I went around 1pm and waited in line long enough to text my mom and then I was on my way to the touch screen. It was real easy. Vote for president, senator and congressman (who was running unopposed). I'm not registered with a party but I voted all Democratic. I think it's the first time I've ever done that, voted with all one party. I was in and out in under 20 minutes. It was rather fun.

Come on

Just got back from a trip to Cashiers, NC in which I scraped the side of my van on a post. I have 2 nice dents and gray paint on the passenger side. I also busted my cruise control sometime between Fri afternoon and Sunday morning because that doesn't work anymore. I love my cruise control and have to get fixed. Augh.

Work sucks in general. I won't go into it too much.

I've been having some real "senior" moments recently, mostly a case of the what-did-I-come-in-here-for? There's also been the putting down and forgetting where I put that and doing something, forgetting that I did it, and doing it again, like washing my face twice. I'll be 28 in August and that's not old. I have no idea what's wrong with me.

My rebate check finally came yesterday, just in time to fix my van. I've been trying to save for a new computer, but there's always something. I'd like to get one this year, but that may not happen.

I suppose I should go to work now.

Public entry

This is for you, you know who you are, whereever you are. A few things, don't ever put my name on a resume, cover letter, reference or employment application. Do not call me. Do not even try to get a job in this business, because I will make sure you don't. I've given your number to all the people you owe money to- the library and Johnston Memorial Hospital. What you did was cowardly and irresponsible. Good luck whereever you go, cause you're gonna need it.

Christmas was alright. I hate not being with my family but I tried not to think about it. It sucks that I have to choose between work and family. I'm tired of it, really. For now, I guess it will be that way.

Light at the end of the tunnel

I haven't posted since I went to UVa in Novemeber. Here's the basic breakdown:

After fall rep closed, we teched Christmas Carol which sucks b/c there's only two of us to run it and no cross over which means we run up and down stairs. We never sit down and are always changing people. It sucks.
I'm spending Christmas and New Years in DC w/ Dori.
I'm going to Walt Disney World in Jan w/ the rents.
I'm going home to Sodus after that.
We've had some snow here.
My 2 and 1/2 week vacation starts the 31st. I'm super excited.
I have my work evauluation today.
The USB ports on my computer are dead. This means I'll have to start saving for a new computer.
That's all. Merry Christmas.
